Day of German Unity 2014

2014 was an historic year for Berlin, marking the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall November 9, 1989. On October 3, more than 100,000 people celebrated the country’s reunification at “Unity through Diversity,” a live show on the Maschsee south of Hanover’s city center.  dasDUR composed and orchestrated the impressive 45-minute soundtrack, using 18 cellists and ballet dancers to tell the story of the Peaceful Revolution. Footage of interviews and news coverage from 1989 were projected on huge water-walls on the Maschsee, taking the audience on a highly emotional, nostalgic journey.
